McVeigh & Mangum Engineering, Inc. (MME) was established in 1991 with the objective of providing quality engineering services and establishing enduring client relationships while strictly adhering to our established core values. Although recognized by our colleagues and clients as an industry leader, we continue to aspire to greater heights. MME has assembled an outstanding staff of professionals in our Jacksonville, Atlanta, and Charlotte offices. Maintaining registration in most states , we offer to our clients throughout the country full-service engineering, which includes structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, technology, LEED®, BIM, and commissioning services.
MME is committed to remaining on the leading edge of technology through the extensive use of modern design and drawing software. This results in high quality drawings, sound economical designs and lower fees. We have embraced the use of BIM technology and have sucessfully provided structural and MEP drawings in the Revit environment for multiple projects over the past few years.
Structural Engineering
MME's structural staff is experienced in the design of structures built in reinforced concrete, structural steel, post-tensioned concrete, masonry, pre-cast concrete, aluminum, and timber. Our experience includes concrete floor systems of post-tensioned flat slabs, pan joists, flat slabs, pre-stressed joists, cast-in-place beams, pre-stressed double tees, hollow core, and tilt-up concrete wall panels. Our steel design experience includes floor systems of composite steel beams, bar joists, steel beams and steel trusses.
Mechanical/ Plumbing Engineering
MME's mechanical/plumbing staff is experienced in the design of simple split-system heat pumps, packaged rooftop units, and complex chilled water systems with variable volume air distribution systems. We have produced economical and efficient HVAC system designs as well as plumbing designs for sanitary waste/vent systems, domestic water systems, roof drainage systems, medical gas systems, and full gas systems for a wide variety of residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
Electrical Engineering/Technology
MME's electrical staff has provided services for a diverse number of projects from small tenant upfits to complex industrial facilities requiring 24,000-volt electrical services. Our technology design capabilities encompass all of the project's electrical needs including the design of control, fire alarm, data, and communications systems tailored for the specific demands and budget of the project. We have also designed lightning protection and backup power systems (generators and/or UPS systems) for many facilities to carry them through nature's tests of local utilities.
